  8. My family would LOVE to win this dehydrator so we could grow and preserve more of the fruits, herbs and veggies in our yard, and become more self sufficient. It would also be a big hit with two out of our three boys who love to garden and harvest our goodies just like me. Our oldest will also eat more good food if we can dehydrate it, since he will not eat raw fruit or veg due to sensory challenges.

  11. Doing what I can to get my family prepared. My wife's not fully confident on canning, so as an alternative I plan on trying to dehydrate some of the bounty we're starting to pull from the garden, but I have a relic dehydrator gifted to me by my mom. It only dries a couple trays at a time, and only on one side at a time. Could really REALLY use something more reliable to get my family better set for whatever may come.

  12. I would so love to win this dehydrator. I am new to dehydrating and have on that I bought in a thrift store, due to being a one income family of 5. It does work somewhat but this new one would allow my family to start enjoying the benefits of real food.

  13. i would love to get my hands on one of these- i am terribly allergic to mold and cannot eat commercially processed foodstuffs. i can, however, dehydrate my own. my current dehydrator isn't very efficient, which causes more food waste and frustration.

  14. I just got an oldie given to me and it is loaded up with fruits right now, oh how very nice it would be to have a new one sitting there beside it.. then I could get twice as much done in the same time.. would make life so much easier.. have to travel about 50 miles to get quality fresh veggies and fruits and I could make each trip worth while and have good's to make it through the long winter and enjoy my new eating life style .. I really enjoy Modern Pioneer and their posts.. :)

  16. It would be wonderful to have a dehydrator - it would be a wonderful project for my 82 year old FIL to tackle! He and I had a great garden this spring and to preserve its bounty would be another fun part of the garden!

  22. Why would I like to Win? My dear friend owns an Excalibur and I admittedly swoon over it every time I visit her home! I am wife to a Soldier in the U.S. Army and mother of 2 young ones both under the age of 8. My goals are to feed my family wholesome foods that will maintain their health and fuel their bodies to help them accomplish their days. I do home canning, which I love and thank my mother for passing down the skills, though at times I was resistant. My husband will usually take jerky to the field, but I would love to be able to present a more healthy alternative by making it homemade. I would love to dehydrate organic fruits to send with him and give to our children, truly wholesome snacks! I also use a lot of herbs in our home, from seasoning foods to their health and healing qualities, so drying my own would be wonderful! I'm sure there are a million things to use in the dehydrator, but these are a few first thoughts. Thank you for hosting this give away and the opportunity to participate!

  23. I grew up with my grandmother making dehydrated food. I can still remember the hum of the machine running in the back room. The fruits and fruit leathers she made were my favorites. Nothing has ever tasted as good. I would like to share that with my own kids.

  24. I would love to win one because I am new to food preservation and Real Food, and I am also on a very tight/small budget so I can't outright purchase one. Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  26. I have had my eyes on this dehydrator for some time, but haven't been able to part with enough money to buy it! I want to use this to dehydrate my soaked nuts and I've heard you can make yogurt in these. It'd be fun to make jerky and dried fruit, too.

  31. I have been wanting to get a dehydrator since I started drying food this summer with a solar dehydrator. It works fine with the summer heat but I would like to continue to be able to store food when it isn't 100+ outside.

  32. I'm a single dad with two daughters. We have a vegetable garden and otherwise buy organic fruits and vegetables from the store. It would be great to be able to have our own home-grown produce throughout the year. An excalibur would be excellent!
